1993 Carbon Monoxide Saturation Study in Boston
John H. Paino, Department of Environmental Protection May 20, 1993

Background
The following report is a summary of the four week CO Saturation Study which took place from January 19th 1993 to February 19th 1993 in Boston. This study was conducted by the Air Quality Surveillance Branch of the Division of Air Quality Control of DEP and was assisted by the EPA Region I Lexington office. A similar study took place during the winter of 1992 when identical portable samplers were employed for related monitoring purposes.

In this study, portable monitors were deployed at five locations in Boston to collect 8-hour concentrations from 3 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 9 p.m. (See attachment I PP 1 & 2). Single sampler units were situated at two locations, Harrison Avenue and Washington Street (Site #1) and at Kenmore Square. .
